Christmas, for the most part, is for the children, but it is also our most profound celebration of birth, transcending into the love of and love for children, who are the future for all of us.
“The hopes and fears of all the years, are met in thee tonight.” – Phillips Brooks.
The joys of Christmas are most likely the earliest experiences of sheer joy and wonder that we remember. My dear old Dad used to treat himself to a small cigar that he would only indulge in on Christmas Day; to this day, the smell always rings Christmas bells for me.
Christmas celebrates a kaleidoscope of all sensations: the bright, dazzling lights with tinsel, ornaments, and candy stripes. We revel in the smells of mince pies and turkey cooking in the oven. All these sensations are wrapped in the joyous singing of carols from King’s College Cambridge or Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Everything combines to create a world of joy that impacts each of us as children and stays with us throughout our lives.
It is that first impression our customers (who then hopefully become wine club members) feel when they first experience the many facets of Veritas. Of course, the LOVE sign in the Tasting Room sets the scene, but our first goal is always to show you how pleased we are to see you.
From tableside tastings to a pandemic-era video tasting with our Emily, the lead winemaker, the bottom line is to ensure every one of our customers enjoy their experience here at Veritas. It is that combination of warmth and comfort, along with the consistently high quality of the wines, the scenery, and all the little things, that people remember Veritas and want to return.
It is my sincere wish that everyone, wine club members or not, enjoy what we love to share: from the joy and brilliance of our Illuminated light show to the decadent Farmhouse dinners and our complex portfolio of wines. With the end of the year so near, continue to share with us the luxury and comfort of Veritas. Join me and Patricia as we attend the Masked Ball on New Years Eve and toast with our latest vintage Scintilla. And if you miss ringing in 2024 with us, be sure to visit us on Valentine’s Day.
So, however you show your love for Veritas, we hope you raise a glass with us this year and toast to a very happy holiday season and a healthy New Year.
Love from the entire Veritas family,
Andrew Hodson

Happy Christmas to everyone at Veritas.
We so enjoy reading Andrew’s newsletters and especially enjoyed this one for Christmas and the New Year. Thank you !
All our best to everyone for good health and happiness .
I always love your letters, Andrew, and this is no exception…although you might want to reconsider your adjective for your Farmhouse Dinners; they really are more lively than all that. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
Blessings and peace, my friend.
